A leaked U.N. draft report says the Rwandan army and its Congolese rebel allies now in power committed massacres in Congo in the 1990s that could be classified as genocide, using hoes and axes to kill people and burning others alive.

Pace Of U.S. Economic Growth Slows To 1.6 Percent

The nation's gross domestic product grew at a 1.6 percent annual rate in the April-to-June period, mostly due to a surge in imports and a slower buildup in inventories. That's down from an initial estimate of 2.4 percent last month and much slower than the first quarter's 3.7 percent pace.

Johnson & Johnson Recalls Failure-Prone Hip Implants

About 1 in 8 people who have received the affected hips need surgery to replace them within five years of implantation. That failure rate is more than double the average for similar products.

Bernanke: Fed Will Take Action If Economy Falters

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said the central bank will consider making another large-scale purchase of securities if the slowing economy were to deteriorate significantly and signs of deflation were to flare. He described the economic outlook as "inherently uncertain" and said the economy "remains vulnerable to unexpected developments."

Body Of Suspected British Spy Found In London
